Students start unit 1, section 1 of the OCR Business Studies course. This unit is Business Activity and in the first half term, students will learn about what is a business, why are businesses set up, the role of an entrepreneur. .
Students will continue with unit 1 which is ‘business activity’ but continue with stakeholders and ownership and finish with growth
Students will begin alternate units between 2 teachers. This half term, students will look at the role of marketing and market research as well as the role of HR, organisational structures and communication in business.
Students will continue finance and influences on a business in time for the 2nd set of mock exams
Students will have their second mock at this point and start off with going through the paper and learning what improvements which they needed to make. Students will then go back to unit 1 and revise what they had learnt before Christmas.
Students will be working on ‘finance’ and ‘influences on a business’ revision which they learnt post-Christmas. They will have both Business 1 and Business 2 final exams towards the end of this half term.
Students start work on their Unit 4 customers and communication coursework. This includes a visit to a local golf course. They also begin work for the unit 1 examination unit looking at different types of business, their objectives and legal ownership.
Students continue work on their Unit 4 customers and communication coursework. In the unit 1 examination unit they will look at how organisational structures effect how a business operates as well as how to use financial information to check the financial health of a business.
Students will look at the external influences on a business and business planning. They will be continuing with unit 4 of their coursework. Students will be continuing unit 4 of their coursework and starting to complete their first drafts towards the end of the year which can then be marked.
Students will start unit 5 of the coursework which is ‘customers and communication.’
Students will make improvements on unit 4 coursework in time for the final moderation. They will work on the pre-release for the unit 1 exam which is later this half term.
Once the exam has been completed students will make final changes to their unit 5 coursework before making a start on units 2 and 8.
Students will continue with unit 5 of their CTEC course which is ‘Marketing and Market Research.’
Students will continue working on Unit 5. They will continue Unit 2 exam module which includes arrangement of business meetings and business documents. Students will sit Prelims at the end of this half term.
Students will complete unit 2 looking at how businesses communicate with stakeholders. They will be continuing with unit 5 of their coursework. Students will continue with unit 5 of their coursework with the first draft ready towards the end of the year to mark and give feedback on generally at the beginning of next half term.
Students will be revising and preparing for their external exam. Students will be starting on coursework 3/3 which is unit 8, ‘introduction to human resources.’
Students will make improvements on unit 8 coursework in time for the final moderation. Students will complete revision for the unit 2 exam.
